Martin's career started in BT where he worked in management training, facilitation, coaching and mediation. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Since leaving BT Martin has provided training for a number of blue chip companies including Reuters, O2 and Smithkline Beecham and within the public sector including the Metropolitan Police.

He offers training in a wide range of skills such as TQM, project management, interview skills and assessments.

In 1990 Martin became a lecturer for the Open University Business School running their Creativity, Innovation and Change course.

In 1991 he became a UKCP registered psychotherapist and a certified trainer in Neuro-Linguistic Programming. He has a private practice in Hertfordshire combining psychotherapy, coaching, hypnotherapy and NLP.  He also offers in-house counselling for Tower Hamlets Council.
